Chaoticum is an experimental dark ambient band with heavy occult/horror influences. Chaoticum was formed in 2004 by the frontman, "the Reverend", when he was urged by his mentor, "Pater Aequatio", to find an outlet for their occult teachings, known as the "Theory of Nemesis". Utilizing music and tonal impulses, rather than words or sayings, as the courier for their message, the duo composed an album that would affect the personal subconscious, rather than the conscious mind, by attuning the subconscious with the collective unconscious. After the short personal release of "Chaoticum I - So Ahc Lan-Rete", their album was filtered onto the internet by fans, where a growing appreciation began to appear on foreign hardcore and black metal forums. After receiving a much larger initial response than expected, the duo pulled in other devotees to assist in further musical endeavors. Chaoticum would find its new direction in 2005, putting out "Chaoticum IXII - Necessary Death" on September 11th; partly as a political statement about the United States, partly as a tribute to "Pater Aequatio", who died shortly before the release. On the 14th of May, "the Reverend" released Chaoticum's third album "Chaoticum IV - Chaos de Xi Mer" in honour of his lesser feast. Less than a month later, on 06/06/06, the band released their fourth full-length album "Chaoticum VII - Reliquaries", as a ritualistic treat for 666, and to celebrate the sacred marriage of "the Reverend" and "Silent Soror Krystalis", who were married that same day at 3:33pm. Currently, the band is preparing their eigth and ninth full length albums for release, as well as laying the groundwork for five more albums. Chaoticum works with fledgeling directors to create new, artistic visuals to match with their songs, and currently has seven of these music videos to date. Chaoticum also maintains www.Chaoticum.com, a website where fans can contact the band directly.
