Chromeo is an electrofunk duo based in Montreal, Canada and New York City. They are P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel) on keyboards, synthesizers and talk box, and Dave 1 (David Macklovitch) on guitar and lead vocals. The two were best friends since childhood and officially formed the band in 2002. They describe themselves as the only successful Arab/Jewish collaboration since the beginning of time. David Macklovitch is currently earning his Ph.D in French literature from Columbia University, where he also teaches undergraduate French classes. Franck VIGROUX,1973, turntablist, guitarist and conductor, playing music ranging from rock to avant garde electronic. In 2004 he founded D’Autres Cordes records , a post-radiophonic label based in France. Vigroux is currently recording and performing with Push the triangle featuring Stephane PAYEN and Michel BLANC, with Triste Lilas featuring Hélène BRESCHAND, Marc DUCRET , Fabrice ANDRIVON, and his trio with Bruno CHEVILLON and Michel BLANC, and a duo with Elliott SHARP .
La Roux is the electropop project of Elly Jackson (born 12 March 1988 in London, United Kingdom; singer and keyboardist). It started as a duo in 2008 and became a solo project in 2011, when Jackson's songwriting and producing partner Ben Langmaid left the group. Her music is largely influenced by 80s pop music including Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, The Human League, Heaven 17, Yazoo and Prince. Founded in 2004 in Rennes, Ille-et-Vilaine, french pop band Monsieur Roux is comprised of Erwan Roux (vocals, guitar), Bertrand Thépaut (guitar), Kevin Gravier (bass), and Matthieu Lesiard (drums). The band released their critically acclaimed debut album in 2005 called Ah Si J'étais Grand et Beau..., which was originally released independently. The record was awarded a Prix Charles Cros in 2007 and reissued that year by the Atmosphériques label, ultimately peaking at number 97 on the French albums charts. Their second album, Un Été Caniculaire, was released a year later. .
