"Bossa Nova" is a style of Brazilian music popularized by Antônio Carlos Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes and João Gilberto. Bossa nova (which is Portuguese for "new trend") acquired a large following, initially by young musicians and college students. Although the bossa nova movement only lasted six years (1958–63), it contributed a number of songs to the standard jazz repertoire. .

Bossy were an indie punk/pop band from Brooklyn, New York from February 2006 - June 2007. Bossy were Jamie Ewing, Cassie Ramone, and Justin Sullivan. In 2009 the record label Wild World released the The Best of Bossy. .

Javier Colon, born in Stratford, Connecticut on April 29, 1978, and professionally known simply as Javier, is an American R&B/Alternative Soul singer/songwriter/musician.
