Hi-Standard are a Japanese punk rock group who formed in 1991. Since then, they have become a popular and influential part of Japanese underground music. The release of their hugely popular "Making the Road" sparked sold-out Japan shows and US/European tours with punk bands such as NOFX, WIZO, and No Use for a Name. Although Hi-Standard were Japanese born, all of their major releases were sung in English. Live footage of the band shows them talking to the crowd in their native Japanese and then immediately changing to English for the songs.

Distance is a name of at least four artists.
[1] DJ Distance is a South East London-based producer who was instrumental in dubstep’s early development.
Real name Greg Sanders, Distance is credited with introducing the much-imitated heavy riffage of metal to dubstep at the dawn of the genre. Before picking up Cubase and becoming a producer, he was a fan of heavy and industrial bands like Pantera and Fear Factory.
In 2001 he was being drawn to the dark garage sound that was all around him in South London. Tracks by Oris Jay or Wookie on DJ EZ’s Saturday night...
Alexandra Stan (born 10 June 1989 in Constanța, Romania) is a Romanian vocalist. Her career began in 2009 when native music producers Marcel Prodan and Andrei Nemirschi heard her singing at a Karaoke bar and proposed her a contract with their own management, Maan Studio. She subsequently released her debut recording "Lollipop (Param Pam Pam)" in late 2009. The song and its video were met with bad reviews, being criticized for their eroticism. Her next single, "Mr. Saxobeat", was composed by Marcel Prodan and Andrei Nemirschi, the duo that discovered her at the Mamaia Music Festival. It became her worldwide...
Stan Getz (Stanley Gayetzky, February 2, 1927 Philadelphia – June 6, 1991 Malibu, California) was an American jazz tenor saxophone player. Known as "The Sound" because of his warm, lyrical tone, Getz's prime influence was the wispy, mellow tone of his idol, Lester Young.
His parents were Ukrainian Jews who immigrated from Kiev city, Ukraine in 1903. The family later moved to New York City for better jobs. Stan worked hard in school receiving straight "A's" on average and finished 6th grade close to the top of his class. Stan's major interest was in musical instruments, and he felt a...
1) Havana is a female Soul artist from San Diego, California
Cuba has been making world headlines recently with its historic experiences of newfound freedom and—true to her name and the current global climate—Southern California’s soulful singer-songwriter Havana has a lot in common with the flava-filled Caribbean island’s fresh liberation.
“I used to wear this shirt that said ‘South America by way of Havana’ and everyone would ask if I was from Cuba. A few people started to call me Havana and the name just stuck,” says the matter-of-fact musician who, despite the sultry demeanor, keeps it straightforward and who...
