Sound Fiction was formed in autumn 2002 in Moscow. It was created by two members of OxiD project - Dmitry Filatov and Vadim Soloviev. Their first experiments with sound go back to 1997. During that time, famous OxiD styles were trance and eurodance.
Having considered the further prospects, Dmitry and Vadim decided to create a different project with a new label, and a new concept. So, that is how OxiD was dismissed and a new project called «Sound Fiction» appeared.
In 2003, Sound Fiction's tracks are included in different electronic compilations. During the first year of existence, Sound Fiction have created some original tracks and remixes. There were a lot of experiments with the sound and musical styles. In the beginning of 2004, Sound Fiction's tracks appear on various FM and Internet radiostations, including some stations outside of Russian Federation. In May 2004 «Atmosphere Rec.» (Russia) prepose to release SF's debut album.
In December 2005, Dmitry & Vadim leave «Atmosphere Rec.» (Russia) and make it clear that they are not planning on joining the residency of any labels anytime soon. They are still planning to release their long-awaited album sometime in the near future.
In the beginning of the year 2006, Dmitry Filatov and Vadim Soloviev decide to stop writing music under the alias of "Sound Fiction". From now on, their duo will be called Filatov & Soloviev. DJ Fonar makes Filatov & Soloviev's first release happen by including their track "Filatov & Soloviev - Electronic Revolution (Dub Mix)" in his double-disc DJ-Mix compilation titled "Inoy". In addition to that, Dmitry and Vadim are also planning to write solo tracks and remixes, and play solo DJ sets. Vadim Soloviev's track titled "Atlantic Point" has already recieved positive feedback from Markus Schulz. .
