Ray Sawyer (Chickasaw, Alabama, 1 February 1937 - 28 December 2018) was an American singer best known as a singer with the 1970s rock band, Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show. He released the solo singles "Rockin' Satellite" in 1960 and "I'm Gonna Leave" in 1962 for the Sandy label in Mobile, Alabama. Sawyer also cut a self-titled solo country album on Capitol in 1977, that was launched with the single "Daddy's Little Girl".

With Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show, Ray Sawyer was primarily a backing vocalist and occasional percussionist on congas or maracas. He sang lead on their hit song "The Cover of Rolling Stone" and was a recognisable presence in the band due to the eyepatch and cowboy hat he wore.

Sawyer was the uncle of Zack Sawyer, the vocalist of Wild Fire.
