More than one artist shares this name. 1) Heathen is a North American thrash metal band originating from the Bay Area California, founded in 1984 by guitarist Lee Altus and drummer Carl Sacco. They have released two critically acclaimed albums, "Breaking the Silence" (1987) and "Victims of Deception" (1991). First Era (1984-1992) Heathen was formed in 1984 by two friends, guitarist Lee Altus (who was a native of Ukraine (U.S.S.R. then)) and drummer Carl Sacco (formerly of Metal Church). Heathen Hammer is pure black metal hailing from Covington, Kentucky. It features members of the band Sin, as well as Sapthuran. The current line-up is J. Morris, P. Hall, K. Leeds, and CultSS. They currently have one demo and one rehearsal released. While they are not pure NSBM their lyrics deal with such issues as pride, honor, heritage, and war and relates in many ways to NSBM ideology and heathen revival. .

Composed of Chris Rae (bass), Chris Cucci (banjo, guitar, keys), Sean Moore (violin, trumpet, guitar, keys, vocals), Matthew Butcher (guitar, vocals), and Jeff Ilgenfritz (drums, harp, guitar, keys, vocals). The Heathens made Country/Folk/Rock music. Their debut album was released in 2006. Unfortunately the band disbanded in 2007. Due in part to conflict between members of the band and that none of the members wanted to make the Heathens their full time band. Since the break-up each member has joined other bands in Central Florida or is working on a solo career....
