Batfinks is a quirky, upbeat and highly talented electronic music composer named Steven Wareing from Manchester UK, born in 1982 and died in the December of 2016. He mainly releases on independent netlabels. His early releases are breakbeat and IDM related. Later releases contain more acoustic instrumentation and much more experimental electronics. There is only one artist originally called Batfinks, however, a different Batfinks is listed here due to tagging issues with some compilation releases which renamed the artist The Batfinks (A physcobilly band) into Batfinks, and people confusing the names. .

The Batfinks is a Psychobilly band. During the mid- to – late 80’s Psychobilly music was experiencing a boom in the UK and mainland Europe. The scene had kicked off early in the decade and there soon followed a tidal wave of bands and labels all scrabbling to cater for the massive demand for Psychobilly music. Some bands lasted longer than others and whilst the Batfinks didn’t last as long as some, they thankfully left a legacy in the form of an album and some live recordings.
