Bereavement is a Perth (Western Australia) Melodic Black Metal band.
Bereavement began in the winter of 2006 with S. Terlich's vision of spawning a black metal band; recruiting Eblis on guitars and Tyrant on drums. The band went through a number of bass players who attended rehearsals but unfortunately none of them really suited what Bereavement were looking for.
Draugan (bass) also joined the band for a number of months, but however left to pursue his other bands and interests.
In mid February 2008 Tyrant's time in Bereavement came to an end.

Although The Holy Shroud formed in the winter of 2003, their accomplishments were halted at two shows and six songs by the intervention of jobs, other bands, early-onset midlife crises, and European vacations. Were it not for the kindly lads in Hot Cross offering them an opening slot on a Canadian tour the following summer, the band’s combination of dissonant, snaking guitars, off-kilter melody, and pummeling rhythmic sensibilities might have been forever lost. With their vigor renewed, The Holy Shroud spent the remainder of 2004 writing, playing and recording the songs that comprise their first record, Ghost Repeaters.

Shroud of Bereavement's music is akin to attending a funeral for everyone you have ever loved. The Boston-based group achieves this moribund feeling by incorporating all the right musical elements: cellos, piano, violin, duo female vocal harmonies layered on top of harsh death vocals played at the pace of mile-long funeral procession.
