Mezzoforte are an Icelandic Jazz-Funk Fusion ensemble. They shot to the world's attention in 1983 with Garden Party from the Surprise Surprise LP. They are still performing in 2004 with the original lineup. At The Disco相对“软摇滚”不同，他们走的是类似于Underoath的Post-Hardcore路线，这也是Ronnie Radke善长的风格，在经过一个夏季的蛰伏后，终于发行了他们处女专辑《Dying Is Your Latest Fashion》，进榜2周，爬到了billboard Top Independent Albums榜的19名。 　　就在2008年Escape The Fate计划巡回演出的时候，发生了一系列事件使得巡回演出不得不取消。主唱Radke被爆出有药物依赖，并且在6月12日拉斯维加斯因为假释期间暴力行为而被通缉，而6月16日在家乡被捕。之后乐队决定把Radke踢出乐队，来自Blessthefall乐队的Craig Mabbitt加入乐队成为主唱。8月4日Radke被判刑4年。在监狱里Radke在MySpace的博客又引出问题，Radke首先对自己的行为向歌迷道歉，但是他认为被判刑是错误的，之后在乐队其他成员的博客上出现了不同的声音，Max Green的博客上说，“你活该被判刑，你就是个罪犯”，而在Craig Mabbitt的博客上，Radke留言说Mabbitt偷了他的女朋友，就因为Mabbitt想成为“Ronnie Radke”。在宣布Craig Mabbitt正式成为主唱之后，Escape The Fate开始制作他们的新专辑。 .
