Bob Cobbing (30 July 1920 - 29 September 2002) was a British sound, visual, concrete and performance poet who was a central figure in the British Poetry Revival. His involvement with performance began with the Hendon Experimental Art Club and the Hendon-based magazine And in 1951. This led to his setting up Writers Forum, which began publishing in 1963. In 1964 he published ABC In Sound, a book that combined his interest in sound and concrete poetry in an exploration of the visual and auditory possibilities of the English alphabet. King Cobb Steelie are a Canadian indie rock group, whose music fuses elements of punk, funk, jazz and dance. They formed in 1991 in Guelph, Ontario. The core of the band consists of singer/songwriter Kevan Byrne and bassist Kevin Lynn. A variety of other collaborators, including Al Okada, Mike Armstrong, Don Pyle and Michelle McAdorey, have contributed to individual albums. The idea to create the Cobblestones arose from countless jam-sessions in which it soon was clear that out of a huge repertoire folk was the most fun. Jimmy Wilbur Cobb (born January 20, 1929, in Washington, D.C.) is an American jazz drummer. Probably his most famous work is on Miles Davis' Kind of Blue (1959), considered by many to be the quintessential jazz record. Cobb is the last surviving player from the session.
