Dead Smiling Pirates hails from Copenhagen, Denmark. DSP set sail on the musical oceans for a life of music piracy in 2006. A short-lived collaboration led by Henry Kaiser involving bassist Andy West, guitarists Bob Adams and Scott Colby, and drummers Michael Maksymenko and John French. They recorded two albums in the late 1980s: Crazy Backwards Alphabet, which was re-released with extra tracks in 1992; and Crazy Backwards Alphabet II (aka We Are Not Amused), which was not released at the time but is now available as a download from Amazon and iTunes. In between recording these albums, Kaiser and French participated in the first French Frith Kaiser Thompson album Live Love Larf & Loaf. .
