XCanaanX were a straight edge hardcore/metalcore band from Margate, UK that formed in 1999 and split in 2003. The band were well known on the UK Hardcore scene for their explosive live shows and straight-edge philosophy. Their first release "Gehenna Made Flesh"on Ignition Records was recorded in 2000 and recieved widespread acclaim in the scene for it's raw energy and brutal breakdowns. They are widely regarded as the most influencial straight edge band to have emerged from the UK. .

The versatile norteño band Beto y Sus Canarios were formed in 1987 in Huetamo Michoacan, Mexico, sometimes called the Tierra Caliente. Musical director Gabino Garcia approached Edilberto Portillo with the idea early that year and the two went to work auditioning and recruiting members, settling on musicians who had not been in any type of musical group before theirs. It took the ensemble seven months of rehearsal and organization before they began playing for community events and social gatherings. Early recordings generated local hits that became regional hits.
