Alien Ant Farm, ortak bir kariyere sahip olan dört arkadaş tarafından 1996’da kuruldu. Grubun kadrosu, gitarda Terry Corso, vokalde Dryden Mitchell, davullarda Mike Cosgrove, ve basta Tye Zamora’dan oluşuyor.
"Alien Ant Farm" ismi, Corso’nun hayallerinden birinin sonucudur. Genç adam bir gün ofisinde otururken, "insanların yaratıklar tarafından yaratıldığı" hakkında düşüncelere kapılır. İnsanların karıncalara benzer bir şekilde ve karınca çiftliklerinde büyütüldüğünü hayal etmiştir. Düşüncelerini arkadaşlarına anlatır ve bu isim üzerinde karara varılır. Alien Crime Syndicate (1997–2005) were an American alternative rock group formed by Joe Reineke in San Francisco, California before relocating to Seattle, Washington after the collapse of his previous band The Meices. The group's main lineup consisted of Reineke, bassist Jeff Rouse (Rhino Humpers) and Nabil Ayers with a number of guitarists, Jason Krevey, Mike Squires and Mike Davis, contributing and performing with the band over the years.
