Aisha Kandisha's Jarring Effects (AKJE) are a band from Marrakesh that mixes Moroccan Sha'abi (literally: Folk) music with Western music, mainly dub. Their first album El Buya was one of the first to appear on the Barakat el Farnatshi label that was founded by AKJE-member Pat Jabbar. It has traditional Sha'abi instruments and song structures with heavy dub effects, scratching and the occasional sample (even Gregorian chanting). Their second album, Shabeesation was co-produced with and featured Bill Laswell and Omar Ben Hassan of the Last Poets. It leans much more heavily on dub/electro. .

2) Dub-influenced techno recording name of producer Jens Massel, aka Senking and Fumble. His main release as Kandis was 2002's "AIrflow" on the Karaoke Kalk label, which is as notable for its Pole/Monolake style of clicks, echos, and synth washes as it is for the hilariously bad rendition of the "Theme from the Greatest American Hero" on the title track. .
