2006 yılında Dissection'nın Jon Nödtveidt'n intiharıyla yön değiştiren black metal mecerası 1989 İsveç'ine dayanıyor.İlk demoları ve The Somberlain(93)albümü brutal death metal olsada,bir sonraki albümleri Storm of the Light's Bane(95)ile başlayan black metal mecerası sırasıyla; Live Legacy(2003),Reinkaos(2006)albümleriyle devam etti.Dört full albüm ve demolarıyla black metal camiasına soğuk ve kasvetli izler bırakan grup, daha bir çok çalışma ile sevenlerinin karşına çıkabilecekken grubun kurucusu ve vokalisti Jon Nödtveidt'nin intiharıyla dağılmamış olsa da çok kan kaybetti. Watainde'de vokalistlik yapan Erik, Dissection'a transfer olmuştur ve grubun vokal yükünü başarıyla taşımaktadır. .

The Delta Rhythm Section features players from the James Taylor Quartet; Neil Robinson, Jay Glover, Dominic Green and Gary Crockett. The band have released some 7" singles on Mocambo and one library released album called Old School Classics. .
