The Moves are a three piece pop group from Chicago who consist of Johnny Vox(vocals/guitar/keys), George Henner (drums) and Ian Ross (bass). They use electronic elements in addition to traditional rock instruments to round out their penetrating pop sound. The Moves released their debut EP "One Two Three Four" in late 2008. The Moves (now defunct) were also one of several bands who released albums on Kaia Wilson's (The Butchies, Team Dresch) Mr. Lady label. They released their self-titled debut album in 2000. Vocalist Pete Philly and producer/instrumentalist Perquisite met up for the first time in 2002 in Amsterdam, where both were living. Perquisite, who also ran the Dutch indie now jazz/hip-hop label Unexpected Records, liked what he heard in the Aruba-born singer and rapper, and by the next year the duo had issued its first EP, MindState. In 2005 it was followed by a full-length European release, including a guest appearance from Talib Kweli. In 2006, MindState came out in North America and Australia. 2000 yılında Hakan Özer (klavye), Cem Özkan (bas gitar), Ömer Ahunbay (vokal) ve Oğuz Kaplangı (gitar-vokal) tarafından kuruldu. 2001 yılında Erol Çay (vokal) ve Kerem Eye'ın (davul) katılımıyla genişledi. Grup ilk olarak değişik mekanlarda doğaçlama (session) tarzında çaldı. 2003 yılında 10. İstanbul Caz Festivali kapsamında ilk kez kendi repertuvarlarını çaldılar. 2006'da davulcu Kerem Eye ve kuruculardan gitarist Oğuz Kaplangı gruptan ayrıldı. Müzik Tarzı: Grup doğaçlama ve deneysel tarzda müzik yapmaktadır. Soundunda; Reggae, Caz, Elektronik Müzik, Funk Müzik, Etnik Müzik ve Hiphop etkileri görülür. Şarkılarını İngilizce, Fransızca, Türkçe ve Rebelce (Grubun müziğe göre uydurduğu kelimelerden oluşan dil) dillerinde yazmaktadırlar. .
