1349 is a Norwegian black metal band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 1997. The band's name comes from the year the Black Death reached Norway. In recognition of 1349's influences, the band performed a cover of Mayhem's "Buried by Time and Dust" on their debut album, Liberation. 1349 Rykkinn is a project of Bård Torgersen, the man behind Lord Bård. He helped pave the way for electronic music in Norway almost 20 years ago, playing in a large amount of bands like Nemlig Hemlig, Masters of Møh and SUPERskill. He left that scene in 1996 due to a heavy depression, and went on a journey around the world.
