Thunderstorms is an instrumental emo/pop punk/indie project from some twinkle daddy named Ben in Ottawa, Canada. It's good. You should listen to it. In case you were wondering, it's instrumental cause the aforementioned "some twinkle daddy" from Ottawa can't really sing. He likes to tell people the music stands on its own without vocals (it doesn't). But he's a nice guy, so we humour him anyway. Controlled Storms is an experimental rock band from Philadelphia, PA. On stage, Controlled Storms' three members shuffle instruments, moving from the standard drums, bass, and guitar to dual basses, keyboards, samplers, and the occasional trumpet. Although some songs have vocals, the band creates moods and tells stories without a voice or particular instrument taking the lead. The songs often conjure up elements of post-rock, progressive, jazz, and even metal. Their members have comically referred to their elusive style as "Paranormal Blues" or "Weightless Metal." Stormsterk was founded by Mark Kwint some years ago. Inspired by traditional Folk music like ‘Folkcorn’ and heavier bands like ‘Otyg’ and also influenced by the nature and tales of the Veluwe area, he began to write music and lyrics.
