Name change! Please change your tags to make sleepyhead the artist. sleepyhead, formerly Broken Toy Airplanes: sleepyhead is an electronica project by seventeen year old Haley EIizabeth Mills. Hailing from Pleasanton, Texas, her music is very enlightening and joyous, while her lyrics are slightly mature and very metaphoric. She’s done a couple contemporary covers, and has a good amount of her own original songs. Definitely young talent at it’s best. SEE: Forstella Ford. Before 1998, Forstella Ford was known as Only Airplanes Count. A lot of people are under the impression that OAC and FF are two different bands, but that is not the case. The first released by the band was a song on the first Emo Diaries compilation (Deep Elm). There was also a split 7" with IL band Stillwell (self-released), a compilation on No Karma Recordings, and a 2-song 7" (Dyslexic Records). The first Forstella Ford full-length (Relics of an Unseen Life) was recorded as Only Airplanes Count, which was completed right by a cross-country tour with...
The Airplanes is the DIY, indie pop project of Joshua Vest, a songwriter in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Airplanes strive for pop perfection, crafting noisy, harmony infused songs—a sound focused on the simplistic strength of the three minute pop song. Following the success of the 2012 self-titled debut EP, The Airplanes released a 7”, four-song EP on Manic Pop Records. After the overnight disappearance of Manic Pop Records, Vest assembled a live lineup featuring Andrew Donovan on guitar, Joel Paul on bass, and Rob Storms on drums. The four piece band plans on touring nationally in the summer of 2014. 2014...
It may surprise some that Paper Airplanes, a three-to-six-piece, hails from Wichita, KS, not Montreal or Athens, GA. Never mind the plains are home to The Flaming Lips, to which Paper Airplanes has loosely been compared. The closest comparison we could find in the plains states is to a tornado, for the band can certainly pick up and toss around whatever instrument they wish and whip up a helluva storm when they're in the mood. Their music can be likened to a cross between early-Built to Spill, the range and audaciousness of The Arcade Fire, the organic sensibilities of Ticonderoga...
Let Airplanes Circle Overhead is an experimental/post rock band from Carlisle in the North West of England. Their name is taken from W.H. Auden's Funeral Blues. After disbanding previous outfit As An Enemy, Luke Roberts and fellow member David Langfield joined forces in 2003 with James Johnson to form Let Airplanes Circle Overhead. The bands sound is characterised by their ability to build up sparsely melancholic, languishing melodies, switching in an unforeseen instant to an assault of the distortion and jerking movements, building to prolonged white noise and onstage mania. Like a call to arms from the sweetest army. This...
