Ravin was born on 11th of July, 1966, in the Indian Ocean, on Mauritius Island, with a traditional Hindu upbringing. He moved to France as a teenager where he developed his childhood passion: music. He began working in a music shop in Paris, which cultivated his interest in dance music and club culture.

Frankie Gavin (born 1956) is an Irish fiddle and flute player, from Corrandulla, County Galway. He is a founding member of the Irish traditional group Dé Dannan. He is known for playing in the fast and virtuosic Galway regional style. Gavin has recorded and played with many of the best traditional musicians of his generation, and he has recorded many side-projects, including work with Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, Keith Richards, Yehudi Menuhin, Stéphane Grappelli and Earl Scruggs. Released on the Phillips label in 1970, Cravinkel, the English spelling to the last name of the German band's guitarist (Gerd Krawinkel). They recorded this album in London with producer Rainer Goltermann The group's self-titled debut features ten short tracks, only a couple of which are longer than four minutes. The music is a mostly straight-forward Brit-rock sound augmented with blues, West Coast country, folk, and psychedelic.
