Jasper Carrott OBE (born Robert Davis, March 14, 1945) is an English comedian (declaring himself "world famous in Birmingham") Born in Acocks Green, Birmingham, he was educated at Moseley School. He started his own folk club at 16 called "The Boggery" in Solihull, where he would perform folk songs as well as MC. Before long, his banter with the audience overtook the actual songs and he became known more as a comedian than a singer. Bill Carrothers has been a professional pianist for over 20 years. He has played many venues throughout the U.S. and Europe including the Village Gate, Knitting Factory, Birdland, Blues Alley, New Morning (Paris), the Audi Jazz Festival in Brussels, the Nevers Jazz Festival (where he shared the bill with Abbey Lincoln), the Montreal Jazz Festival, Jazz Middelheim, and the Marciac Festival in France. In October of 2000, Mr. Carrothers headlined the prestigious Rising Star Tour throughout Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Carrots were formed in 1997 in Barcelona, Spain and they play a combination of twee pop and psychedelica. The band split up in 2005. Soul/Funk/Psychdelic band formed in the mid-sixties in Mexico City by brothers Salvadore Agüero, Luis Agüero, and Felix Agüero. Salvador, (nickname "Rabito," hence the group's name) played with Esquivel, Dave Brubeck, Dizzy Gillespie among others. The group was active until the mid-seventies. They recorded their album Soul Latino in one day in 1971, and published it under the Vampi Soul label. It contains a nice choice of covers, among which stand Romeo Y Julieta (Nino Rota), Pais Tropical (Jorge Ben), Funky Chicken (Rufus Thomas), Everyday People (Sly Stone) and Los Pielos Tiesos (Kool & The Gang). .
