The Blakes | th

There are two bands that go by the name "The Blakes". 1) The Blakes recall the stinging catchiness of the early Who, Kinks, and other 60s spitfire rock bands. Brothers Garnet and Snow Keim (both on vocals) busked around the country, writing songs, 'till they ended up settling in Seattle.' There they met drummer Bob Husak and since have been touring the world with everyone from The Gossip to the Kills to Brian Jonestown Massacre, reached #1 on KEXP, garnered Top 10 album of '07 on iTunes and perform at clubs internationally and at US festivals from Lollapalooza to Bumpershoot...
The William Blakes are fearless. The band's four members have known each other since they were teenagers. They all play everything and they trust each other completely. Their debut album was recorded in 5 days in November 2007 and was released in Denmark in 2008 to rave reviews. They took their name from the poet William Blake (1757 - 1827) because they share his desire for a spiritual upheaval. Their songs are about religion, magic and politics, but with a strangely personal twist. .
