Garage Punk | en

Garage punk is a blanket term for all kinds of garage rock and punk bands from the 60's onwards. Not as simple as a fusion of 60's garage rock and late 70's punk rock, it incorporates everything from black rhythm'n'blues to 80's power pop into a generally minimal rock sound that relies on spontaneity over instrumental ability.

Garage Punk of today is exemplified through record labels such as Goner Records based in Memphis, Tennessee and marquee acts such as the Black Lips, Jay Reatard and the King Khan & BBQ Show. .
