sleepy.ab is a four-piece post-rock band from Hokkaido, Japan formed in April 2002. They describe their music as having characteristic melodies of transparency and floating aimlessly. The "ab" in their name stands for "abstract", and it isn't pronounced when spoken. sleepy.ab members are: 成山剛 (Tsuyoshi Nariyama) on vocals/guitar , 山内憲介 (Kensuke Yamauchi) on guitar, 田中秀幸 (Hideyuki Tanaka) on bass guitar, and 鈴木浩之 (Hiroyuki Suzuki; ex-ART-SCHOOL, U&DESIGN, GOLIATH) on drums (support member). Sleepy Horses began in a living room in Lubbock, TX. Colt Miller, Amanda Shires and Nic Goodson began recording lush West Texas folk...this project became Sleepy Horses. Within a few months Nic Goodson moved to Athens, Ga.....There he began to play solo under the Sleepy Horses moniker and later would add several other members including Jason Peckham, Brandi Goodson, Jim Wilson, Kyle Harris, and Matt "Pistol" Stoessel...with this larger lineup in place, the band bagan to tour extensively throughout the Southeast, East Coast, and thry the West....they also recorded an album, "Somewhere Out West, Lonesome For You".
