Insecticide was started in 1986 by Brian Smith and Sherman Jones and went on to have a handful of drummers until Rich Rowen (Beowulf/Danzig) joined in 1988 Insecticide proceeded to tour on the first 2 demos, this was unheard of at that time!
Insecticide plays all over USA/MEXICO/CANADA and has opened for Gwar, MOD, Excel, Dr Know and many more!!!
Insecticide has since re-released there Demo's along with the 1990 album on Blower Records in 2007 and will record a CD of new material in 2008 along with a DVD filmed in Mexico City in November 2007.

Formed in 1982, the Kalahari Surfers was essentially a string of studio projects realised by Warrick Sony at Shifty Studios during the 80's. These involved various personel from that environment whose names were altered or simply reduced to first names to safeguard against security dirty tricks persecution.The band itself was a fictional collective designed to dodge any flak that may have appeared from these forces. There are two artists who use the name The Insects:
1) Tim Norfolk and Bob Locke became known as The Insects in 1996 and started co-writing for Bristol bands such as Massive Attack ('Karma Coma' and 'Euro Child'), and they wrote the track 'Human' from Goldfrapp's best-selling 'Felt Mountain' album. The Insects had written music for several documentaries, an animated feature film 'Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb', feature film 'Love and Death on Long Island' starring John Hurt and Jason Priestly, TV commercials and CD-Roms. Recently they have written the score for the horror film 'Creep', 'XX/XY', and 'Owning Mahony'...
