Spacement is a band located (only physically) in Athens, Greece and formed in the hot summer in 2012. The sound of the band, emerging from the emptiness of deep space, contains a fair amount of stoned and psychedelic riffs, passing from doom and sludge, to post influences and with heavy fuzzy tone.The group consists of Nikos (vocals),Stathis (Guitar),Thanasis (Bass) and Tsak (Drums). .
The early days Paul Miro and Bart (AKA Paul Bartram) met in a rehearsal room in Leicester in 1994, both having been called upon to work on some songs for a guy neither of them knew very well. It quickly became apparent that Miro and Bart had much in common musically, so they quickly broke away from the poor guy who had inadvertently brought them together, and started working on their own project. The Spacemen were an American rhythm and blues band, a one-off outfit of jazz session players, featuring pianist Sammy Benskin. They had a hit with "The Clouds" in 1959 (written by Julius Dixon, released on Dixson’s Alton Records). Other session musicians playing on the record were Panama Francis, Haywood Henry, and Babe Clark. The song originally had vocals, which Dixson removed, releasing the instrumental version. Spacemen 3 were an English neo-psychedelic space rock band formed in 1984 in Rugby, Warwickshire by Jason Pierce (a.k.a. J. Spaceman) and Peter Kember (a.k.a. Sonic Boom). Their first album, Sound of Confusion (1986), was not successful commercially, but it attracted a loyal fan base. Its follow-up, 1987's Perfect Prescription, is a concept album mirroring the highs and lows of a drug trip. It expanded the group's core of fans and is generally considered their masterpiece.
