Yuna (real name; Yunalis Zarai) is an acoustic/alternative/pop singer-songwriter originating from Selangor, Malaysia and is now based in Selangor, Malaysia and Los Angeles, US. This music is renowned for its haunting melodies, dense ornamentation, complex rhythms, and stunning improvisations. The geographical position of the Balkans in southeastern Europe and hundreds of years of Ottoman Turkish rule have created a wealth of influences from both East and West. 伊藤由奈 (Yuna Ito) made her debut in September 2005 starring as Serizawa Reira in the NANA live action movie. Born September 20, 1983 in Los Angeles to a Japanese father and Korean mother, Yuna often won singing competitions when she was young. Yuri Yunakov (Юри Юнаков) is a Bulgarian-Rom saxophone player and leader of the Yuri Yunakov Ensemble. He was born in Haskovo, Bulgaria, of Turkish Rom ancestry, and currently lives in the New York City area. Yuri's career began with the ensemble MLADOST and he subsequently began a ten-year long collaboration with Ivo Papasov and Ensemble Trakia. Yuri Yunakov is Bulgaria's most famous saxophonist. Yunasi is a Kenyan group that has developed a unique East African music style called SESUBE which is a combination of sega, isukuti and benga. It takes sounds and inspirations from local Kenyan communities, cultural styles and languages and fuses those sounds with a European component.
