Minimum Chips are an Australian band formed in Brisbane in the early 1990s, now residing primarily in Melbourne. Their influences are varied and include 60s film soundtracks and French pop, indie rock and krautrock. Using a small but effective palette of instruments from guitar, bass and drums to Yamaha Electone organ, trombone and glockenspiel, Minimum Chips have managed to achieve a cult following in Australia. We are used to see Existensminimum (Magnus Henriksson) as a spectacular drummer and percussionist in the Moneybrother band. But he also does his own music and produces other bands. Minimum Vital is a French band formed in 1983 by brothers Thierry and Jean-Luc Payssan. They mix art-rock influences from YES, the instrumental virtuosity of fusion, influences from medieval and southern European traditional music, and modern innovations. Their first album, Envol Triangles, was released on cassette in 1985. Starting with their second album, 1988's Les Saisons Marines, they moved to Musea. The band split up in 1994, though they reformed later that same year. The Payssan brothers also record as Vital Duo. .
