Eschenbach is a German rock band. It was founded by Ben Tewaag (vocals) and Philip Eschenbach (guitar, bass) in 2005, calling themselves Ultima Ratio Regis. Three years later, they changed their name to Eschenbach when drummer Nils Berger became part of the band. Tewaag left the group during the recording of their debut album and was replaced by Riitchy Schwarz. The self-titled album Eschenbach was released in 2009, hitting position 83 of the German album charts. In January 2012 they released their second album Alles in Allem. www.eschenbach-band.com .

Christoph Eschenbach (born February 20, 1940 in Breslau, Germany (today Wrocław, Poland) is a noted pianist and conductor. Orphaned by World War II, he won numerous first-place piano competition prizes. In 1964 he made his first recording (of Mozart) for Deutsche Grammophon and signed a contract with the label. In 1981, Eschenbach became principal guest conductor of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, and was chief conductor from 1982-86.
