The Hermit Crabs are: Melanie Whittle (guitar and vocals); John Ferguson (lead guitar); Chris Gillies (bass guitar) and Jo Bunyan (keyboards). They are from Glasgow, Scotland. The Hermit Crabs were formed in 2003 when Mel's band California Snow Story were on hiatus. After various lineup changes, they released their debut EP, 'Feel Good Factor', on Matinée Recordings in January 2007, followed by an album in October 2007, 'Saw You Dancing', which included performances by members of Teenage Fanclub and Camera Obscura. Scrabbel was formed in 1999 by two old high school friends Dan Lee and Becky Barron. On the strength of their debut show in 2000 at a sold out event for the San Francisco Intl' Asian American Film Festival, they were approached by a label to record a record. Rob Crabtree began bagpiping at age 10, and was the 1986 North American Amateur Champion. In his years of professional solo piping, Rob has reached the highest levels of piping, culminating with his capture of the 1998 Gold Medal at Braemar, Scotland and the 1997 North American Professional Championship. He is a regular performer and prizewinner at the world's foremost competitions. A major goal of Rob's career has been extending the appeal of bagpipes to wider audiences.
