The Skels | en

Established in 1995, The Skels were once described as “the band to see when you’re planning on getting so drunk you don’t remember your name,” New Jersey’s The Skels have played and drank their way through pubs up and down the east coast, and as far away as San Francisco, for the last twelve, going on thirteen, years. Originally formed as the house band for a tiny Irish pub in Hoboken, New Jersey, The Skels quickly gained popularity for their abrasive and rowdy style of drunken, riot-inspiring pub-rock. Playing marathon, multi-set shows which nearly always culminate in sweat-laden, body crushing...
The jewel in the crown of Milwaukee punk, the Haskels featured two distinctive songwriters, Presley Haskel and Richard LaValliere, and a drummer, Guy Hoffman, who went on to play with the BoDeans and Violent Femmes. They were as deft at reiterrating the verities of great rock'n'roll as they were in taking the songs out of the box and into the bizarrely hilarious. -Dave Luhrssen http://milwaukeerockposters.com/haskels.html .
