The Schola Cantorum Amsterdam (SCA) was established in 1959 as the gregorian chant choir for the University of Amsterdam's Roman Catholic student community. .

In the fall of 1977 at a John Cale concert at CBGB the opening band was the Mumps. Sitting in the front row was the president of their fan club, Bill Arning. He was 16. A couple of other teenagers named David Scharff and Phillip Shelley, who came in from the suburbs to see Cale, arrived early to get good seats. Student Rick were a pop punk band consisting of Adam Reiter (guitar/vocals), Brett Jones (guitar/vocals), Jason Pavilanas (bass), and Zach Davis (drums). They were most famous for their song Falling For You. This song was featured on the soundtrack for the game Aggressive Inline. They broke up around October of 2002. They later reformed under another name, and then again broke up on February 5th of 2007, according to absolutepunk.net.
