Uldis Stabulnieks (1945- 2012) was a Latvian jazz pianist and popular music composer. Starting out in the underground Soviet jazz scene as a member of various bands, including a collaboration with trumpeter Gunārs Rozenbergs, Stabulnieks eventually went on to become one of the most prolific Latvian composers of popular music. Despite his songs becoming standard repertoire for various Latvian pop singers and writing scores for a number of Latvian movies, Stabulnieks continued to perform his own material as a respected solo artist right until his death in 2012. .
