Consisting of rapper/singer/songwriter Phonte and producer Nicolay from North Carolina, United States / Utrecht, Netherlands. The Foreign Exchange came together via the online hip-hop community Okayplayer.com in 2002. After trading files through Instant Messenger for over a year, Nicolay (living in his native Holland at the time) and Phonte (a Raleigh, NC resident) completed their debut album before they ever met each other in person. The album, Connected, was released in 2004 to positive reviews, and was praised by legendary DJ's such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, King Britt, and DJ Spinna for its inventive mix of hip-hop, R&B, and electronica....

The Love Exchange may have called Los Angeles home, but they had San Francisco blood tripping through their veins. The focal point of the band, 16-year-old Bonnie Blunt — her clarion voice a heavenly hybrid of Grace Slick and Elaine "Spanky" McFarlane — burns bright as the sun while Walt Flannery's hypnotic ballroom keyboards and the spellbinding guitar tandem of Dan Altchuler and Fred Barnett swirl around her like the perfect soundtrack for a Griffith Park Love-In. .

Steve Sexton and Gerald Obrien, both Canadians, joined forces in the late 80s and early 90s to form this keyboarding, New Age/Jazz group. They put out about five albums , their last being "Beyond Words" before disbanding. Works were featured in both the Price Valiant cartoon series and various NBC sports coverages. .
