The Arrivals are a four piece from Blue Island, Illinois, Southside of Chicago. They write songs about everything and nothing, sometimes all at once. They sound like Mission of Burma trying to write Kinks songs, though most people have their own f-ed up description that may be just as valid. They've toured with Dillinger Four(with whom they now share a bass player), The Soviettes, Toys That Kill, Rise Against, Tiltwheel, Vena Cava, Grabass Charlestons, and The Lawrence Arms. As always, there seems to be more than one group with a name like this 1)The Rivals were a UK punk band from Ramsgate, in existence from 1976-1981. Originally formed by childhood friends Mark Edwards (guitar, vocals) and Paul Leinster (bass, vocals), they soon added Mark Hebden (drums). The most well known lineup for the band, and the one that produced the vast majority of music that you can find from them, came about when Hebden left the band, to be replaced by Paul Daley on drums. Formed in mid-2004, the Rosefield Rivals played a mix of power pop and punk-pop music. They released one EP-length in 2005, containing 5 songs. They later released one extra song "The Romance" via their MySpace page. The band broke up in mid-2005, and despite fan interest in a reunion, they have only played one reunion show (December 22nd, 2006). .
