Popek is a cult figure in Polish underground hip-hop. While still a notable name among Cracow's hip-hop collective Firma, Popek gained much of his fame in 2007 upon release of his solo album "Wyjęty Spod Prawa", to both critical and popular acclaim. In 2008 he let out his second solo album - "Heavyweight". .
In 2010, Jim Matheos (current member of the progressive rock powerhouse Fates Warning and OSI) and John Arch (former vocalist of Fates Warning) teamed up to form the new progressive metal band, Arch/ Matheos. The band -accompanied by the talented lineup of Joey Vera (Armored Saint, Fates Warning, Seven Witches) on bass, Bobby Jarzombek (Iced Earth, Halford) on drums, and Frank Aresti (Fates Warning) on additional lead guitar- began tracking the drums for their debut album Sympathetic Resonance on January 12 and continued to record through March with Jim Matheos producing. Jim Matheos is the guitarist and primary songwriter for the progressive metal band Fates Warning. He has also released two solo instrumental albums.
Additionally, Jim plays in OSI (described as a 'project with band aspirations') alongside Kevin Moore (Chroma Key, ex-Dream Theater), who handles keyboards, programming, and vocals.
He also participated on the project called Gordian Knot, which is a fusion of Progressive Rock and Jazz, alongside with musicians like Jason Gobel, Sean Reinert, and Gordian Knot mastermind Sean Malone.
