Magdalena Kožená (b. 1973) is a Czech mezzo-soprano. She was born in Brno in 1973. After having studied at the Brno Conservatoire and at the College of Performing Arts in Bratislava, she graduated in 1995. In 1996-97 she was a member of the Vienna Volksoper.
Miss Kožená’s recordings include Bach arias, Handel’s Roman Motets and Italian Cantatas and “Messiah” with Marc Minkowski for DG/Archiv, and her first solo recital disc (Dvořák, Janáček and Martinů with Graham Johnson - Gramophone Solo Vocal Award, 2001) for Deutsche Grammophon, with whom she has signed an exclusive contract. Magdalena Solis was a Belgian music and visual project that was active between 2010-2013.
Early recordings were released on a first EP Lady Of The Wild Things, a very hybrid collection of short instrumental songs. For the first full album Hesperia the multitude of influences were funneled into in a more worldly rock sound. The project was also know for its thought-provoking video work, and in 2012 the Hesperia video were released on a dvd. .

Canal Magdalena is a Chilean rock group formed in Viña del Mar, Chile in 1995. The band originally consisted of Cristián Arroyo (vocals and bass guitar), brothers Ygal and Max Glisser (guitars), Kamal Lues (drums) and Gonzalo Herrera (keyboards). They released their first EP "Espuma" in 1997, followed by their first album, "Teledirigido" (1998), featuring singles yo soy el angel and espuma. The second album "Canal Magdalena" released in 2001 incorporated new sounds and influences, mostly Italian ballads as shown with their cover of Franco Simone's "Tú siempre tú" (that was Max Glisser's final album with the band before leaving)....
