There are multiple bands called Collider. Collider (2009) is a young San Francisco rock band that recently recorded and released their debut album “Down In Saturines”. Named after large particle accelerators, Collider’s music revels in both the bombastic beauty of energy and more subtle moments of delicacy, like particle patterns moments before collision. Super_Collider were formed in 1998 and released two exceptional albums before the growing solo careers of the two main members, Jamie Lidell and Cristian Vogel, pushed the Super_Collider project on hold for the forseeable future. Both Vogel and Lidell were deeply involved in the underground UK techno scene of the 1990s. Vogel was behind the Mosquito label which was hugely influential and put out key EPs by the likes of Neil Landstrumm and Dave Tarrida. .
Supercollider (not to be confused with the electronic group "Super_collider" with an underscore) were a short-lived duo from Los Angeles circa 1990 to 1994. The band primarily consisted of Michael Horton on guitars and vocals, and Philip Haut on drums. This lineup produced two full-length releases: 1991's Supercollider and 1993's Dual. Both albums were released by the East Bay, California label Emigre. Later in 1994, a track called "Tripped. Fell" was recorded for Emigre Records' third sampler Dreaming Out Loud.
