There are at least 4 artists who go by the name of Darkside. 1) Collaboration between electronic musicians Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington. Their first release was an eponymous 3 track EP in 2011. Their first album, "Psychic" was released in October 2013. On 17 August 2014, the group announced their hiatus via their facebook page. 2) An Austrian death metal band that formed in 1991. Initially being only a project founded by bassplayer Peter Böhm and drummer Robert Grögler, they started to rehearse more intensely during the whole summer and even started to compose some first tunes, based on...
Described on the band's website as "dark, atmospheric acoustic zen rock from the Massachusetts woods", Mountain Mirrors combines spiritual subject matter with psychedelic folk music, progressive rock and metal influences. The brainchild of Massachusetts musician Jeff "The Sandman" Sanders (ex-Divider, Asstrain, Cesspool), Mountain Mirrors started in 2003 as a sort of deep personal catharsis and caught the ear of poet Vine Sweetland of Vine Sweetland and the Forefathers of the New Millennium. Promoted early on by Vine's now-defunct Zemira Records, Mountain Mirrors began to build an early fan base in psychedelic rock circles and has since released three LPs and...
19 years after their first single "The Right Time", Achim Jaspert (composition) and Andy Cay (vocals) still work together in best harmony. Young keyboarder Henry Flex, who recently joined the band, supports the electropop-pioneers with innovative and modern melodies. On their new album "In London" the three musicians capture the different moods of this pulsating music metropole. In a perfect way the music describes a bustling day at the Picadilly Circus as well a walk through the Hyde Park on a rainy sunday morning. Beautiful and intense guitar riffs add to complex and melodic electro-pop arrangements. The present ( 1995...
The Darkside was originally formed by guitarist & vocalist Nick Hayden who had previously played drums for Spacemen 3. The band formed in the Spacemen's hometown of Rugby. Hayden then asked Pete Bain (AKA Bassman), who had left Spacemen 3 just before their 1989 LP Playing With Fire, to join the band. Bain was then joined in the new outfit by his former bandmate, drummer Sterling Roswell (AKA Rosco). The group debuted in 1990 with the E.P. 'Highrise Love' and a UK tour followed but shortly before a gig at Oxford's Jericho Tavern, Hayden left the band and decided to...
There are multiple artists named Hall of Mirrors: 1) Hall of Mirrors is an experimental ambient project from Italy, founded by Andrea Marutti (Amon, Never Known) and Giuseppe Verticchio (Nimh) in 2005. They use an immense range of synthesizers and electronic equipment, sequencers, tapes, fields recordings, electric guitar and vary effects in coupling to sophisticated jobs of treatment of sound sources. They produce organic, textural ambience that’s murky and abstract, uncurling like tendrils of smoke before coalescing into a simulacrum of shadowy figures, to turbulent, more immersive post-industrial sounds that prowl the depths of subterranean caverns and forgotten, still radioactive...
