Cigarettes After Sex is an American ambient pop musical group led by Greg Gonzalez, founded in El Paso, Texas in 2008. Gonzalez recorded the first EP, I., in a four-story stairway at his alma mater, University of Texas at El Paso. Gonzalez relocated to Brooklyn, NY where the band's single, "Affection", was recorded and released in 2015 along with a cover of REO Speedwagon's "Keep On Loving You".
Through music recommendations, Cigarettes After Sex has gained millions of views on YouTube leading to live performances across Europe & the US.

The Dancing Cigarettes, from Bloomington, Indiana, were a post-punk/new wave group that existed from 1979-1983. There were some lineup changes over that span, but typically the band consisted of singer/guitarist Michael Gitlin, bassist Emily Bonus,keyboardist and multi -instrumentalist Tim Noe, saxophonist Don Trubey, percussionist, synth player and vocalist Jaclyn Oddi, and drummer John Terrill. The band cannot be categorized very easily, as their quirky and frenetic sound mixes elements of garage punk, bouncy Devo-esque new wave, Beefheart-like avant-rock with dissonant squonky horns, and even aspects of atonal no-wave bands lilke DNA (for whom they opened). Bumsnogger started out in 2002 in Nottingham, England. They were heavily influenced by bands such as Iron Monkey and Eyehategod with other more traditional influences thrown in such as Black Sabbath and Motorhead.
They released a debut Ep in June 2003 '...And Destroy All That Come Before Us' on Ape of Thoth Records which was the band's own label, despite the band having one of the worst names possible, it was this ep that gained the band most of it's fanbase, containing the band's most popular song "Dutch Fisting".
