The Sydney based four and sometimes 5 piece have just released their debut, the ironically titled mini-album Extended Play.
From the inner west the band is delivering a refreshing vibe to the Australian music scene, they began when drummer Beaks and bass player Paddy, met busker Dylan, one night outside the Coopers Arms hotel in Newtown.
Dylan, fresh from N.Z. and not yet 18, was on the streets with his guitar busking for coin outside the pub. “We met him,” Paddy says, “when the Coopers Arms bouncer started hassling us to give the dude money".

Джон (John Feldmann) и Саймон (Simon Williams) работали вместе в обувном магазине «NaNa's shoe store» в Калифорнии. У них были смелые задумки по поводу создания группы, но не было ударника. Тогда они попросили послушать их демо-запись Дэррина Пфайфера (Darrin Pfeiffer), который работал в кафе «Starbucks». Запись ему очень понравилась и он присоединился к ним. К тому времени группу покидает гитарист и уезжает в Коста Рику профессионально заниматься сёрфингом. Вместо него в группу приходит давний друг Джона (John Feldmann) Чарли Паулсон (Charlie Paulson).

Группа была основана в 2005 году Золтаном Батори, бас-гитаристом венгерского происхождения, в прошлом — участника U.P.O.[2], и ударником Джереми Спенсером. Название группа получила от Гонгконгского кино[3]. В 2006 году к группе присоединился басист Мэтт Снелл, а позже Батори послал вокалисту Ghost Machine Айвену Муди материал группы, и он также присоединился к ней[4].
Five Finger Death Punch записали самостоятельно спродюсированный первый альбом The Way of the Fist со звукооператорами Стивом Бруно (англ. Stevo «Shotgun» Bruno (Mötley Crüe, Prong), и Майком Саркисяном (англ. Mike Sarkysian) (Spineshank) в 2006 году, сведением и мастерингом занимался гитарист Machine Head, Soulfly Логан Мэйдер (англ. Logan Mader)[5]....
The Fingertips debut album in 2003 achieved first place on radio airplay charts with the single “Melancholic Ballad”. This was followed up with two more releases (2006 & 2007) which saw the band repeating their success with top radio airplay once again.
The band has a loyal fan base and has supported Nelly Furtado, Queen, George Michael, The Corrs and others.
In 2010 the band went on a search for a new vocalist and out of hundreds of candidates Joana Gomes was chosen giving the band a new voice and direction.
