It was winter of 2008 and the winds swept across the midwestern fields. Stripped of their possessions and scrounging to survive, five young men (mere boys in some eyes) howled in the night as they formed a rebellious band of wild outcasts. This tight-knit gang called themselves The Beggars and are still roaming the countryside looking for a morsel of food or perhaps some change...anything will do... .

a four piece from manchester, made up of Bob kemp(vocals), Duggie Harrop(guitar), Chris perry(bass) and chris on drums. they signed to ugly man records in 1989(ish) released one 7" and one 12". man in a suit and welcome, respectivly. this is trhe same lable as the man from delmonte started out on. unfortunatly i have no more info on them. but they were a good group and at one point supported james(where i first heard them). .

This band was from Scotland, their name is derived from an opera 'The Beggars Opera" by John Gay in 1728. The musicians of BEGGARS OPERA were Martin Griffiths (vocals), Rick Gardiner (guitar and vocals), Alan Park (keyboards), Gordon Sellar (bass, acoustic guitar and vocals), Virginia Scott (Mellotron and vocals) and Raymond Wilson (drums and percussion). BEGGARS OPERA made a lot of records but remained acting in the shade of most progressive rock bands.
