There are two artists named Shooting Stars: 1. This duo from south auckland have released 3 albums to date and have become regulars at the parachute music festival. Born out of a side project from punk-rock band Mumsdollar these 2 put out a brand of acoustic worship that many people will love 2. Best known for the infectious "Current C#," the band from Stamford, CT was formed by the Ott Brothers (Chris on guitar, Johnny on drums) and Emilio Rovello (bass). They put out at least three EPs in 2001 and briefly included additional member Christopher "C-Mac" McEneaney who appeared...
Shooting Star is a rock band from Kansas City. They were formed in the late seventies. After quickly gaining enormous popularity in the Kansas City area, Shooting Star became the first American group to be signed with Virgin Records. They recorded their 1979 debut album in England with legendary producer Gus Dudgeon, best known for his work with Elton John and David Bowie. The band gained national exposure when a number of songs garnered moderate air-play on Album-oriented rock radio stations in the US. Their initial line-up included Van McLain on guitar and vocals, Charles Waltz on violin, keyboards and...
Though he likes to keep a pretty low profile, Romanian house artist Petre Inspirescu, or Pedro as he's sometimes called, is probably one of the most talented names in electronic music today. Pedro first caught our attention in 2007 with the release of Tips, his exceptional Cadenza debut, and outdid himself last December with Intr-o Seara Organica..., his incredibly deep album on [a:rpia:r]. Shooting At Unarmed Men was the project of former mclusky member Jon Chapple (guitar/vocals). It had existed as a "sporadical joke" since around 1999, possibly as an outlet for Chapple's songwriting which could not be accommodated by mclusky. The initial lineup included bassist Simon Alexander of King Alexander (who co-wrote the mclusky song chases); and drummer Steve Morgan. With Simon Jarvis (of Big Joan) replacing Alexander, they released two albums: Soon There Will Be... in October 2005 and Yes! Tinnitus! in May 2006, both on mclusky's former label Too Pure. This line-up played their last gig on April 16th 2006...
