The Shills formed around childhood friends Ed Bateson, Dickon Collinson, Rob D'Ath, and brothers Olly and Tom Yates in Cambridge. In 2008 they released their debut single, Raison d'être, with independent Cambridge label, R*E*P*E*A*T records.
