Hemanta Kumar Mukhopadhyay (Bengali: হেমন্ত কুমার মুখোপাধ্যায়; Hemonto Kumar Mukhopaddhae) also known as Hemanta Mukherjee (16 June 1920 – 26 September 1989) was an Bengali singer, composer and producer. He sang in Hindi films under the name Hemant Kumar. Hemanta was born in the city of Varanasi, India although his family hailed from a village named Baharu in West Bengal.He joined Jadavpur University to pursue Engineering,however, he quit academics to pursue a career in music, despite parental objection. Jolly Mukherjee is an Indian singer/songwriter. Known as India's "King of Strings", Mukherjee specializes in the music of Bollywood. His roots include a mixture of Hindustani classical music and Western music. He is known for working with the Madras Cinematic Orchestra, where he combines percussion sampled from Bombay (such as the pakhavaj) with strings from Madras. Budhaditya Mukherjee (b. 1955) is a Hindustani classical sitar and surbahar player of the Imdadkhani (Etawah) gharana (school). He was taught by his father Bimalendu Mukherjee from the age of five, and started making a name for himself at a young age.
