В 1996 году на финской сцене было не так много команд, играющих сырой панк-рок старой школы. Почти все группы играли либо краст, либо молодежный хардкор, либо что-то в таком духе. Ребята же решили начать играть музыку, которую они слушали, на которой выросли и, как говорит вокалист Вилли, с которой они и начали интересоваться панк-роком. Так в провинциальном финском городке Joensuu и появились Wasted. Все участники группы были друзьями на протяжении долгого времени и пробовали играть до этого в разных других коллективах.
