Criada na Suécia, em 1989, a banda sempre apresentou muita melodia, técnica e influências progressivas que influenciaram diversas bandas de metal, principalmente de Progressive Death Metal e Melodic Death Metal.
A banda acabou em 1999, voltando em 2003 para gravar o último álbum da banda, Crimson II. Atualmente é praticamente ignorada pelos apreciadores do metal mais popular, mas continua sendo cultuada por alguns membros do underground do metal. .
