Twilight Fauna is a one man atmospheric metal band from Appalachia. Constantly pushing the boundaries between genres, multi-instrumentalist Ravenwood uses a variety of traditional folk instruments alongside conventional black metal guitar work and primitive drumming to create a unique blend of blackened folk metal. There are two bands with the name 'Fauns' 1) A band founded in Berlin in the mid-nineties playing a mixture of folk rock and prog rock, now known as Favni. Part of their lyrics are inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien. After several demos they released their first full-length album "LeafFall" in 2007. The second album "Awaiting the Sun" was released on Firefield/EMG April 1, 2011. A reclusive American dark ambient/black metal band. They released two demos titled Rain and The Hunt in 2007, each composed of a single song of over an hour in length. Rain was released on Aurora Borealis in 2008; a release of The Hunt followed in late 2009 with live drums replacing the drum machine of the original. Three additional suites have been conceived but have yet to be recorded officially, although a live recording of the third suite, Avifauna, has surfaced on the Internet under the title “Feathainne”.
