Part of their appeal lay in their irreverence: they described themselves as ’80s bubblegum’ on their business card. The melodic Particles sound is reflected...
The Articles were a ska-jazz band from Detroit, Michigan. They started gaining national noteriety when a radio version of their song "Starsky" ended up on Moon Ska Records "Skarmageddon 3". Moon Ska signed them to a record deal and they released "Flip F'Real" (produced by prominent ska record producer Victor Rice). After that release they were featured on Moon Ska Records Moon Stomp Tour which showcased their latest greatest talent (They toured with Easy Big Fella of Seattle, WA and the Robustos of Atlanta, GA). Sadly, their record label Moon Ska, collapsed three years after their debut on that label....
Hardcore punk band from Chicago, IL, commonly referred to as AOF. Started out as a 4 piece, adding guitarist Dorian Tajbakhsh in late 1983. They disbanded in 1985 after frontman Vic Bondi decided to move to Massachusetts. Their 2nd LP was released posthumously in 1987. In 1991, AOF reunited for a European tour. In 2010, it was announced that the original band had reunited and were planning to record. .

Several ideas were considered. One idea has become The Year We Make...
The Definite Articles band started in 2006 as an acoustic duo: violin and cello/vocals. Over the past couple of years, the ranks have swelled to include viola, keyboard, bass, and drums. Their style leans towards "indie-classical" -- the same vein as pursued by groups such as The Arcade Fire, Joanna Newsom, and ELO, in which a blending of conventional and classical instruments is executed in a natural way. In May 2008, the band completed their first EP, Boy Wonder, and have just released their first full-length album, King Merriweather. .
